6 PM – Python Game Development – Sebastian

January 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Today We Did

  1. Reviewed the requirements for sprites before we buy any (hopefully we can all find free sprites).
  2. Learned how to crop images using FireAlpaca to make correctly “fitting” sprites.
  3. Cloned our new group project repositories.
  4. Cloned the new Shoot Balloon repository & started project.
  5. You can always find the code we wrote in class in my Gitlab repository here:
    https://gitlab.com/gsugiart/mon-7-pm-shoot-balloon/-/tree/sat_7_pm_sebastian?ref_type=heads
  6. AYC Logic’s observed holidays: https://www.ayclogic.com/observed-holidays/
  7. In case you need anything, feel free to email me at sebastian@ayclogic.com
Homework
  1. Homework:
    1. Finalize the (PLAYER AND ENEMY) sprites you choose to use for your project (make sure your group members agree before buying anything).
      1. You NEED more than 1 sprite for both your player and enemy (they both must look animated).
    2. Crop any sprites that need to be cropped
      1. If you need help using FireAlpaca, guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_Yr-K4MZAt1uch38ApHz9QdW_Ao4Hb5uXayFdP8fJFo/edit?usp=sharing
      2. Please split up work evenly among group members (one person crops player sprites, other person crops enemy sprites).
    3. Move all correctly cropped sprites to your newly cloned asset directory.
    4. If you want to “test” anything to see if you did things correctly, you can try blitting one of your images.
