6:30 PM – Scratch Level 1 – Allison

Today We:

1. Continued the Animal Crossing project
2. Coded sprites to move up, left, and down while switching costumes
3. Coded sprites to point in a specific direction
4. Coded the Dot sprite to say “Hello” after reaching the top edge
5. Forever changed the background’s colors

Important Reminders:

1. There are new homework rules. After you finish your homework in Scratch, you have to send an email the night before the day of the class.
2. Since our class is on Tuesday, send an email to allison@ayclogic.com by Monday at 8 PM. In that email, write down your name and a link to your shared Scratch project homework. Make sure to share your Scratch project.

Homework:

1. Cass and Elizabeth:
   1. In the “Drawing Shapes on Grid” project, code the Cat sprite to finish drawing the rectangle and octagon.
      1. Note: use the coordinate plane paper for help. See below for images of the coordinate plane paper.
      2. Print the two images below. 
2. Everyone: 
   1. In the “Animal Crossing” project:
   2. Add a Dove sprite
   3. Code the Dove sprite to go to the coordinate (100, 180) when the game starts. Afterwards, code the Dove sprite to forever move downwards while switching costumes
   4. After the Dove sprite reaches the bottom edge, code the Dove to say “Hi!”
      1. Hint: you will need the code: “if y position < -180 then”
      2. Hint: look at the codes we did in class for help.
